West Virginia state law states that people who use drugs are forbidden from owning a gun. Thus, a drug test should be the first step in universal background checks for gun ownership. Further, gun owners should be required to pass up to four random tests per year.
Seat belt laws are not about your safety. The reason we have a seat belt law is because the state was paid by the federal government to adopt the law. You can check the record if you like but it's true, just as with this new version of the law.

If we could outlaw ignorance and stupidity we wouldn't need near as many laws as we have, especially laws that do nothing to protect the public and serve only to infringe on people's rights to make personal choices, such as seat belt and motorcycle helmet laws.
