How can anyone condone the fact that a Kanawha school board member made an impassioned speech in defense of the school principal accused of bullying a student, and announced that her husband had donated money to help bring the obviously religiously-oriented speaker into the schools?
Maybe the state school board needs to take over Kanawha County Schools and straighten this 'proselytizing' humiliation out before West Virginia gets another black eye?
A reader noted that many of the vents are from whining Republicans that are sore losers. Don't sell us short, because though Obama won the election, he darned sure did not carry West Virginia.
That story about 17 prescription pill indictments in Mingo County, let's see a check about how many of the suspects are on some kind of public assistance. I'm betting all of them. And not only in Mingo County, it's nearly everywhere.
The lead story on every newscast on every network should not be the cowards that planted the bombs in Boston, but rather the victims and how the survivors are recovering.
Flight delays at the airports have really upset congress members . The inconveniences brought on by the sequester weren't suppose to happen to them and their staff.
You're missing the point. You're right about cars not being built to kill. But they do. More often than guns. It's not the inanimate object responsible for the killing. It's the irresponsible humans in control of the object. It's not a matter of guns making killing easier. A person wanting to kill will find a way.
Bush's people heard terrorist chatter about planes. No idea when, where, who or how. Other than shut down all air traffic forever what could they do? Obama's people knew the Boston bombers by name. Watched them. Knew they were no good. Did nothing.
So much for the State Tax Department's word on the 8-week turnaround time on refunds. Wonder how long before they admit they just plan on keeping it and for us to stop bothering to check?
Remember, gardeners and farmers, a weed is a plant to which we have not yet assigned a value. The plant you curse today may be important in the future.
The George W. Bush Presidential Library was opened today. I hope it has an exhibit dedicated to the 4,500-plus young Americans who died in Iraq for no reason other than this idiot president wanted to play war.
We all know the sky above is crowded with thousands of flights a day. I recently read that within a few years 30,000 unmanned remote-controlled drones could be added to the mix. And now we're closing some control towers. What could possibly go wrong?
The solution to the sequester cuts is sensible, flexible cuts in domestic programs accompanied by tax simplification and changes in big benefit programs driving the nation's deficits. Now all we have to do is wait for Congress to agree.
