I see where the World War I memorial in Hawaii is deteriorating and is closed. I wonder how long after all World War II veterans die that we will see their memorials abandoned and closed. Perhaps if we didn't memorialize war so much, we wouldn't fight. We tend to practice what we worship and like. If we like warriors, we are going to fight.
To the teacher or principal who stated the public shouldn't complain about their incomes until they can do simple math and can read: I made the comment and I'm a college professor. Do your job or get out of the profession. I shouldn't have to teach them the basics after they get to college and take them where they need to go. Not that way.
You complain about Cecil Roberts and the UMWA. You had better look out for your health benefits after the Patriot Coal ruling.
How funny, a bunch of old guys are dressing up in Civil War uniforms and marching around calling themselves re-enactors. We used to call it playing army when I was a kid.
Let Patriot Coal survive and the retirees who are too old to work be damned. That is why we should vote Republican judges and politicos out of office because they are for corporations, not the people.
Someone is going to be killed or severely injured by the rampant running of stoplights in Hurricane. How about the police diverting their attention back into town and away from the revenue-rich speeding tickets on Interstate 64. Who are they protecting?
The Supreme Court should take this opportunity to publicly excoriate H. John Rogers.
Our republic is 237 years old, but I would say it is near the end of its history when it is targeting folks for their political views.
The Winfield police budget includes their presence in schools and keeping juvenile delinquents off of the street as well as continued training to have a topnotch force. Know your facts before you spout off or are in the pocket of the other person who is running for mayor.
State workers need to know that their laziness and their smart mouths to other people is why they aren't liked. They need to straighten out and remember they are working for the people.
A thousand thanks go to the city of Charleston for trimming the bushes on the 1700 block of Woodbine Avenue. They did a wonderful job. They look beautiful. There is a brown hound-type dog and a large black dog that are running deer on Blue Lick and Rocky Step roads. If you own these dogs, you should put them up or they aren't going to survive.
