What if Trayvon had been successful in killing Zimmerman? That was his intent, you know. What would the national dialogue have been then? Or would there have been any dialogue at all?
When I started school, even the students were not allowed to wear jeans. They were "play clothes." For school, you wore "school clothes." I applaud Lewis County for attempting to get teachers to dress like teachers.
I see where Marshall signed basketball guard Chris Thomas. That could have been President Obama 35 years ago.
Apparently the ones posting about the cost to attend the Scout Jamboree haven't raised any kids. If they did they would know any kind of camp. Sports, Scouts, science, etc. ... costs money to attend.
Joe Holland, and other employers, should have the sense to accept a sensible solution to a difficult problem. Their only responsibility is the legal requirement to pay health insurance for their employees. The women concerned assume all the moral responsibility for the choices they make.
My comment is about coal trucks coming out of the Cabin Creek area, especially at Leewood. I guess considering that we're a small town, that this is just a haul road for the coal trucks. There are children in the community. There are dogs and other animals in the community.
Racism is something that is taught to us as children. I agree with our president. We are better today than we used to be. I thank racist behavior will eventually die on it's own. A big step toward that end will be the passing of my own generation, the Baby Boomers.
I pulled up beside a girl and mentioned that she should probably stop fooling with her cellphone. "I'm using my GPS!" That does not change the fact that you drove straight through the red light two blocks back.
If you're in the Charleston area, you're breathing polluted air. Not from coal but from chemical plants. Sure, coal causes some pollution to rural areas. But that pollution is worth it considering the amount of jobs it creates. Natural gas and windmills are not sustainable energy sources for a country our size.
Another Marshall fan talking smack: WVU is a quality football program -- Top 25 every single season. WVU will prove it's a consistent program, even in the second-best conference in the country. Marshall can't even win in Conference USA, the eighth-best.
For those people criticizing Stevie Wonder's decision not to perform in a state where a minor, unarmed boy is not allowed to defend himself against an armed vigilante, there is no better means than to hit a state financially. Congratulations to him for acting on his convictions.
