It's really annoying when watching local newscasters. Most are either so into themselves at the anchor desk (e.g. flirty, witty or animated) or so flamboyant in appearance and manners that it detracts from the news content. The reporters are better than the anchors.

Marjorie Clarkson entirely missed the point of Bil Lepp's piece on Charleston's "miserable city" ranking. Lepp is a storyteller and humorist; he was just trying to put a lighthearted spin on the matter. While Ms. Clarkson's arguments were valid, her point-by-point rebuttal of Bil's essay, which wasn't intended as serious editorial commentary, was a little over the top.
