Excellent op-ed by Howard Swint regarding the legalization of medical marijuana. Swint has my vote, and all my friends' votes, if he runs again.
I am in my 70s and I was at Memorial Hospital last week and this beautiful redheaded lady had a sweater and I was so cold. When she went in to visit her husband, she brought me her sweater. I would like to thank her and God bless her and her family.
There's a vacant lot on Orchard Street in Spring Hill. The owner does not live in South Charleston, but I would like to know who takes care of cleaning off these lots. This one here looks just about like a small jungle and nobody is maintaining it.
Don't the city of Charleston workers ever watch the Weather Channel? If they would clean these city drains off every once in awhile, it wouldn't be such a disaster when we do have torrential downpours like we've had.

West Virginia has less than 2 million people but yet has more colleges than almost any other state its size. If you took away the out-of-state residents, the colleges would go bankrupt. ... The Legislature needs to close some of the colleges.

The apparent chemical attack in Syria and the recent shutdown of America's Middle East embassies, and in Egypt the burning of churches and the killing of Christians starkly demonstrate the meltdown of Obama's leadership and America's credibility in the region.To the reader who complained on Randy Moss as a sports commentator: I think he was a wonderful wide receiver and he has done a lot for West Virginia such as helping feed the hungry at Thanksgiving and Christmas. ... He never forgot where he came from. I'm happy he's a West Virginian.
