Former President Carter needs to thank President Obama. Carter will no longer be considered the worst president in the last 60 years.
Absolutely ridiculous that it took them till 4 o'clock to let people start crossing over the Nitro-St. Albans bridge. No one cared about the speeches; just open the bridge to traffic.
The Iraqi prime minister met with President Obama this week to ask for financial assistance to deal with increased violence. Actually, the meeting should have been with Bush and Cheney, the two responsible for what did happen and what is happening in Iraq.
The flood insurance is a joke. They value our home at $120,000 then charge us a ridiculous amount for flood insurance. We live in an area where there has never been flooding, yet they tell us we are in the highest zone. Just another way to get us poor people's money.
So the coal miner thinks the Democrats have abandoned him or her. Short memory or no facts to back it up. If not for Democrats, there would be no safety or health laws for miners. I can assume the vent was because of coal job loss, which is due to low demand for coal.
WVU football should be good next year with all the young players coming back with experience. I've noticed they need proper fitting and better shoes for good footing. They slip, losing traction on the different turfs, putting them at a disadvantage. A stiffer shoe is needed. More trickery and misdirection will help.
Mr. Kabler's Sunday column regarding the expenses incurred by Angela Mascia is an eye-opener to say the least. I would question who in the world goes over these expenses, and, as importantly, were there any positive results from this European vacation?
How do you solve most of the money woes in this country? Just cut the Department of Defense budget in half. They receive half of the budget, over $500 billion a year. Have some of those high-paid generals and contractors give up some of the pet projects that are going nowhere except to enhance their retirement with our tax money. It is time to cut the cord from the Republican baby.
Thought by now the AFL-CIO would have put out a ringing endorsement for the only person with a 100 percent labor voting record -- Delegate Poore. Hope they are looking out for labor and someone's old friend who has never helped labor.
Yes, Biden visited Charleston and all the rich Kool-Aid drinkers went to see him. Anybody ask Joe if he knew where he was at? He probably thought he was in Virginia.
Yes, Joe is in D.C. to vote as we wish. But if it comes down to him voting based on his beliefs or the national party's beliefs, I trust Joe's over the national Democratic Party. It is not his or anyone else's job to go to D.C. and vote strictly by party lines. Anyone that does that is committing fraud to the American people. I vote based on the person, not the party.
Our Legislature should set up a committee to review every conviction in the "criminal" court of former Judge Thornsbury. Who knows how many innocent men he put in jail so he could have a go at their wives?
Recently in the paper a person said that "socialist Democrats" didn't know that you could make a right turn at a red light after stopping. I know that math is probably wasted on a person with this level of intellect, but since seven out of 10 people in West Virginia voted for a Republican for president this past election, the odds are 70 percent that the person at the red light was a fascist conservative.
Joe Biden, and other politicians, are now saying that the NSA went "too far" in its spying, but the only reason that they, or anyone else, know how far the NSA went is because Edward Snowden risked his life and freedom to tell the American people what their government is doing.
