Why are you attacking Pete Thaw? Seventy-two percent of the voters agreed with him. It's the rest of the school board that needs to worry about their chances in the next election.
The county school board needs to look into finding some other way to help pay for the schools, and not getting all of their support from property owners. The working American cannot go on funding everything in this country.
It's strange that when gas prices were going up, all I read were rants against Obama and how it was his fault. Now that they are going down, not a word praising his accomplishment.
I voted against the recent levy because I will not give the BOE any more of my tax dollars until they show me that they can control the waste and overspending plus the lies they tell in order to get additional tax dollars. As for the library system, I would most gladly have voted for a levy to fund them because they have so far operated as a class act.
All that is being accomplished in Mingo is that one faction of corrupt Democrats is being replaced by another and nothing is going to change.
If the comments here in Readers' Voice are any indication, many of our elderly citizens viewed the levy as a ploy to coddle school kids at the expense of seniors. Surely, an enlightened society can value both its children and its elders.
I am 100 percent for public education and it being fully funded by the entire populace.
Please stop blaming the president for everything that is wrong in this country. This nation goes through its highs and lows. Right now is a low. Instead of blaming Obama, try getting up and do something to make things better for yourself and for your nation.Isn't it amazing that the people who complain when President Obama takes a day off never complained when George W. Bush took 879 vacation days during his two terms, the most in history.
