After dealing with the racist GOP for five years, I'm sure President Obama understands what Jackie Robinson went through in the late 1940s.
I am amazed that public authorities in Georgia failed to respond to the weather forecast resulting in the traffic mess. Much like our water crisis, wherein our "leaders" too failed to act on prior warnings. Our governor, mayors, legislators, EPA, DEP, and others failed to protect our water.
Maybe our president should consider that the "takers" may not be so anxious to share the wealth if he would explain that they also would have to share the current debt of $17 trillion and future government liabilities estimated to be $45 trillion.
I support Danny, but this "Poor, Pitiful Me Party," and "This is the worst experience of my life" pity-fest has to stop. That's the face of Charleston he's giving to the world. A mayor is elected to lead, to inspire, to express hope, to plant a flag that we can aim toward.
OK, NASCAR, a driver can win 35 races and lose the last one of the season and not be the "champion." Crazy if you ask me.
I hope legislators understand the risks involved in the consumption of raw milk, especially for children, before passing a bill allowing for raw milk sales in West Virginia. The idea that pasteurization makes milk "bad" and raw milk has curative properties has no scientific basis.
So since we already have embalming fluid in our water, does this mean we will get a discount on our funeral bills?
A couple of kids working in a mall, two guys going about their business, and countless others easily gunned down. The problem with gun owners is that they keep killing the rest of us.
I have no problem with fair and sensible regulations, especially when it comes to our drinking water. The key is fair and sensible. The government is capable of neither. The problem is that the government never seems to know how to balance good regulation, with the public interest, and being overly aggressive due to political agendas.
A Republican congressman from Florida resigned the other day after being convicted of cocaine possession. In the last couple of weeks the former Republican governor of Virginia was indicted on corruption charges. More examples of the hypocrisy of Republicans' claims to be the family values and Christian party. Why do gullible people keep voting for them?
