I'm wondering how many other people are getting these calls from Paul about a medical alert system and the call was coming from New York. Are any others getting it?
The water crises and foul weather has caused much missed school. The parents are right on it, showing what they think is important. That is how to plan vacation, not how to educate their children. No wonder West Virginians are uneducated, the parents don't value education.
While we all know that Manchin, Capito, McKinley and Rahall have been elected to serve the people of West Virginia, they must actually think they work for big coal, oil and gas interests whose major beneficiaries live outside of West Virginia. These officials have forgotten that their salaries are paid by the taxes of hard-working West Virginians who end up paying for the damages to us and our land caused by these land and water-destroying resource extraction industries.
I hope all you people who think the school system has been negligent because of not having school. First of all if someone gets hurt on the school bus the school system is going to get sued. Your baby sitters actually build character in your children.
Would the Gazette please provide the names of the people in the Legislature who support the legalization of medical marijuana? I heard Linda Goode Phillips was one of the lead sponsors. Does anyone know if this is true or not?
Maybe something good will come out of this water fiasco. We seem to be learning a lot about our politicians. I know one thing, I won't be returning any of them to office.
We would like to thank the members of the Pratt Volunteer Fire Dept. for doing a great job with the drinking water during the chemical spill on the Elk River. My yearly dues for the fire department will be mailed out soon.
In response to the comment about the water crisis being caused by a chemical and not coal, you probably don't understand how MCHM is related to coal usage. Our politicians fear not getting votes in a red state. This is all about money, power and greed and being untruthful to the general public.
Do not presume to assume that West Virginia can't think for ourselves. "Religion" has long been accused of infecting people's thinking. So is the superiority complex of those who feel a need to criticize others' opinions when they differ from their own.
