Big Oil raked in more than $93 billion in profits last year and still want Congress to give them more tax breaks. How damn long is the American public going to put up with Big Oil and their lap dogs, the U.S. Congress, robbing us? We need to stop big business tax breaks and corporate welfare now.
Being a diehard WVU fan, I was upset when Harris clouded the great win our Mounties had over Iowa State with his Ron Artest type, trunk tugging, unnecessary defense. I hope he learns from this experience. His talent is needed, as the WVU team is young and will continue to improve. Grow up, young man, and I hope somebody shows you this vent in case you do not get the Gazette.
I know that there are several sheep-farming operations in West Virginia. Does anyone know if any of them sell mutton? I would like to buy some.
West Virginia Water's full page Sunday ad indicates they would rather poison us all with an unknown amount of an unknown chemical with unknown toxicity rather than take a chance that the water might be turned off. They charge twice what any other U.S. water supplier does, yet have no idea what is around them and no contingency plans for a shortage or contamination. For this gross negligence they will surely lose numerous lawsuits.
West Virginians, the law is: you can turn right on red after stopping! Also, one is supposed to stop at stop signs, not accelerate past them.
I saw a picture of Manchin, Shelley, and Nick in the paper trying to answer questions about the water and EPA and they could not set straight because of the coal money in their back pocket. The Koch brothers picked the right state to buy politicians after their failure to buy Iowa.
With another death by car wreck, we are reminded to use seat belts, even, and especially, if you are a first responder, because your family and community need you to live.I recently attended a meeting in Glasgow to discuss water problems. After informing the attendees what was being done about the problems, the mayor gave each person a chance to respond in order of their seating position, starting with the first row. This stalled at the second person and another person who wanted to take over as if no one else's opinion mattered. Then everyone started talking to each other and absolutely nothing was accomplished. Can we not have a meeting and act like educated civilized people?
