    Youth Event

    The Putnam County Gun Club and the National Rifle Association will hold their 17th annual Youth Outdoor Shooting Day on Sept. 15 at the Putnam County Gun Club range near Eleanor.

    Children of any age may attend the Putnam County Gun Club's Youth Day event, but must be at least 10 years old before they participate in firearm-shooting activities.

    Participants can try their hands at .22 rifle shooting, air rifle shooting, shotgun shooting, blackpowder shooting, cowboy action shooting, slingshot shooting and archery.

    Hours of the event are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. All young people must be accompanied by an adult. The admission charge of $6 includes a commemorative T-shirt.
