Backyard bird feeders loaded with peanuts or suet can bring in red-bellied woodpeckers as well as nuthatches, creepers, hairy woodpeckers and downy woodpeckers.

Bright red male cardinals are common visitors to tube and platform feeders, especially those that contain a high percentage of black oil sunflower seeds.

Tufted titmice are frequent visitors to West Virginians' backyards when feeders are present. The perky little birds will eat many different types of seeds.
