MATHIAS, W.Va. -- Hardy County's Lost River State Park has a 75th anniversary party planned for the weekend. The Sunday celebration will include music and family-oriented activities.

Lost River State Park opened for public use on July 1, 1937, in Mathias. At Camp Hardy, located near the entrance of the park, the Civilian Conservation Corps constructed vacation cabins and other infrastructure at Lost River State Park that are still in use today.

Camp Hardy CCC workers Raymond Daugherty and Tom Halterman will attend the celebration. The two will greet park visitors and share their recollections of constructing the park.
