Dems raise more money in legislative races

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Democrats running for West Virginia's Legislature have more than three times as much campaign cash on hand as their Republican opponents heading into the final weeks of the general election season.

The latest financial filings also show that GOP candidates were out-raised by their Democratic rivals by a similar margin in the four months after the May primary.

Reports posted by the secretary of state's office show legislative candidates collected more than $600,000 between May 26 and Sept. 21. About two-thirds of that went into the more numerous House of Delegates races.

With most campaigns reporting cash left over from the primary, spending during the filing period left a collective balance of more than $1.5 million. House candidates again account for the bulk of the funds.

The person below is speaking clearly about real issues;

The problem apparent is simple:

If you're for McCain, you're part of the old world;

Why--after M/P abandoned Michigan-- would any WVian ever consider voting that ticket to nowhere?

Michigan is far brighter about the ways of the modern business world after undergoing generations of being trained in the auto industry;

Anyone who suggests McCain is best for WV ought to present their case why Michigan is so heavily for Obama!

It matters not which party is in power in WV as long as the decision making of our political leaders is dominated by the effect their decisions will have on re-election. We need independent thinkers who are not beholden or do not feel compelled to be beholden to the next election. Otherwise, all we will have is what we already have - not enough jobs, lack of a diversified economy, an unhealthy public that takes little responsibility for the poor condition of their personal health driving up the cost of health care, a politicized court system that makes decision based on who you know rather than the governing law and on and on. Our politicians are more about responding to the sqeaky wheel rather that looking at the engine that drives the car.
