The Kannapolis Intimidators scored four runs on five hits in the first inning and held on for a 5-2 win over the West Virginia Power Friday night in Kannapolis, N.C.
The loss ended the Power's four-game winning streak and evened its second-half record at 1-1.
The Power crept back into the contest as Curt Rindal delivered a sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning and Steffan Wilson went hit his 12th home run of the season, a solo shot in the fourth to make it 4-2, but that was as close as West Virginia would get the rest of the night
Kannapolis added an insurance run in the sixth.
Mike Ramlow (2-3) made his first start since April 17 and suffered the loss after he gave up five runs on seven hits over 52/3 innings.
