The West Virginia Conference and West Virginia State University announced Thursday that WVSU quarterback Kevin O'Brien's appeal to the league's Conduct Committee has been denied.
According to WVSU athletic director Bob Parker, the school "accepts and respects the decision of the committee and appreciates the time and effort taken by its members in reviewing the details of this case."
As a result of the decision, O'Brien will be held out of this weekend's contest against West Virginia Wesleyan in accordance with WVC by-laws.
