Jonnie West leaves WVU basketball team

West Virginia University redshirt junior Jonnie West will not be returning to the WVU basketball program for his senior year of eligibility.

The son of WVU and NBA legend Jerry West will graduate this month with a degree in Sports Management and will enroll in graduate school at WVU this fall, but will not play basketball.

The 6-foot-3 guard played in 54 games and had a career-high 11 points against Long Beach State in the 76 Classic in Anaheim, Calif.
