Sophomore Andre Booker will line up in the backfield with quarterback Brian Anderson when Marshall opens its season next Thursday at No. 2 Ohio State.
Booker was listed as the starting running back on coach Doc Holliday's first depth chart, released Thursday. Booker got the starting nod over fellow sophomore Martin Ward, who will serve as the No. 2 tailback.
Elsewhere on the offense, senior Wayne Bonner will start at "X" receiver over South Charleston's Aaron Dobson, who battled injuries during training camp. Antavious Wilson, Chuck Walker and Troy Evans are listed as the other starting receivers. Senior Lee Smith is the No. 1 tight end and is backed up by freshman Gator Hoskins. Fellow freshman Eddie Sullivan will back up Anderson at QB.
The starters on the offensive line will be Ryan Tillman (left tackle), Landis Provancha (left guard), Chad Schofield (center), C.J. Wood (right guard) and Brandon Campbell (right tackle).
Defensively, injured middle linebacker Kellen Harris is listed third on the depth chart behind starter Tyson Gale and backup T.J. Ross, a freshman. Another freshman, James Rouse, is listed as a starter at defensive end over former Capital standout DeMetrius Thompson. Vinny Curry is the other starter at end, while Johnny Jones and Delvin Johnson man the tackle positions.
Devin Arrington and Mario Harvey are listed as the other starting linebackers, with D.J. Wingate and Ahmed Shakoor the top cornerbacks, and Donald Brown (strong) and Omar Brown (free) the top safeties.
Parkersburg's Tyler Warner won his duel with freshman Justin Haig and goes into the season opener as the starting place-kicker. Kase Whitehead will handle punting duties and Gale will be the long snapper.
