"That was fun,'' said Scott coach John Porter, whose team has lost to the Bobcats in the last two Class AA state championship games and were winless in their last six games against Summers. "It's nice to beat them. We had seven people play and they were all great.''
The Bobcats (9-1), who have won five straight Class AA state championships and were No. 1 in this week's Associated Press poll, had won 105 straight, last losing in January 2008.
Jaimee Dotson added 18 points and Julie Conway 11 for the No. 2 Skyhawks (9-1), who lost at home 54-50 to Chapmanville on Thursday.
Scott only led 12-10 after the opening quarter, then stretched its advantage to 10 points (27-17) at halftime. The Skyhawks outscored the Bobcats 45-38 in the second half.
Candace Brown netted a game-high 39 points and was the only player in double figures for Summers. Brown is featured in this week's issue of Sports Illustrated in the Faces in the Crowd section for surpassing 1,000 career points and helping the Bobcats to the winning streak.
