Dustin Conley's sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning brought home the winning run Saturday afternoon as Chapmanville earned a 4-3 prep baseball victory at Sissonville.
Tyler Cox (3-for-4), Jordan Banks (2-for-5) and Brock Dalton (2-for-4, double) led the hitting attack for the Tigers (7-5), ranked No. 5 in Class AA.
For the Indians (4-11), J.R. Strickland was 5-for-5 with an RBI, Dominic Walker and Justin Elliott each rapped out two hits and Zach Null worked all nine innings and fanned 10.
In the opener, Jake Tracewell and Eli Gray held the Bison (10-6) to just three hits. In the second game, Edgar drove in three runs and three others had two RBIs each for the Jackets (8-2) - Dakota Watson, Gray and Tracewell.
Connor Golden went a combined 5-for-8 with three RBIs for the Class A No. 3 Fighting Irish (10-3), while Kiefer Hovorka and Ian Lough notched the pitching wins. Devin Bayer had two hits including a double in the first game for the Skyhawks (3-7), while Cody Hammond went 3-for-4 in game two.
