Boone leaving Wesleyan for job at Delta State
Advertiser

West Virginia Wesleyan says men's basketball coach Jim Boone has resigned to take the head coaching job at Delta State.

Boone said in a statement Thursday he was grateful for the opportunity to coach at Wesleyan but called the Mississippi school "a new and exciting challenge.''

The Winfield native will replace Jason Conner, who was fired after a 6-21 season.

Boone went 22-9 in his only season at Wesleyan that included the Bobcats' first-ever win in the NCAA Division II tournament.

Boone has also had coaching stints at Tusculum, Eastern Michigan, Robert Morris, and California, Pa.
