Bucs select WVU's Tandy, Goode on draft's final day
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have selected West Virginia cornerback Keith Tandy in the sixth round of the NFL draft.
The pick Saturday came one round after the Bucs took Tandy's college teammate, linebacker Najee Goode, with the 140th selection overall. The 5-foot-10, 199-pound Tandy was the 174th player selected.
Tandy was a three-year starter at West Virginia. He had 13 career interceptions for the Mountaineers.
Marshall safety Omar Brown is signing a free-agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens, he confirmed Saturday.
Brown, who led the Thundering Herd in tackles in 2011, was not selected in the NFL draft, but the Ravens contacted him quickly after the draft. When he joins the Ravens, he will reunite with linebacker Albert McClellan, who also went undrafted.
McClellan spent the 2010 season on the Ravens' practice squad, then made the team in 2011. He is one of four MU alums playing in the league after going undrafted - the others are Pittsburgh's Doug Legursky, Jacksonville's Daniel Baldridge and San Francisco's C.J. Spillman.
Another Herd star, Mario Harvey, will enter his second training camp, this time with the Indianapolis Colts.
