Mountaineers to visit Gonzaga in basketball
Advertiser

Gonzaga had to travel across the country in order to play and beat West Virginia in the first round of the NCAA tournament in March. Now it appears as if the Mountaineers will try to return the favor.

Speaking at an event in Shepherdstown Thursday night, athletic director Oliver Luck said West Virginia is working to schedule a regular-season game with the Zags in Spokane, Wash., next season.

The two teams played in March in Pittsburgh in the NCAA tournament. Gonzaga won in a rout, 77-54.

WVU is already scheduled to play Purdue on the road, Michigan in Brooklyn and Virginia Tech at home, in addition to an 18-game Big 12 schedule that will include two games each against he likes of Kansas, Baylor, Texas and Kansas State.
