KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Courtney Hawkins singled home Michael Marjama in the bottom of the 11th as Kannapolis Intimidators downed the West Virginia Power 7-6 Friday night.

The loss drops the Power into a second-place tie with Hickory in the South Atlantic League's Northern Division standings, 11/2 games behind first-place Hagerstown.

The teams were tied at 4 after nine innings, and the Power scored twice in the top of the 10th on a two-run home run by Eric Aviles, his sixth of the year. But the Intimidators answered with a two-run home run of their own, provided by Mark Haddow off Nathan Kilcrease.

Junior Sosa went 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Power (29-25), while Dan Gamache and Jose Osuna each had a pair of hits.

Kilcrease (0-2) took the loss for West Virginia, giving up three runs on five hits in 22/3 innings.

It was the second consecutive extra-inning walk-off loss for the Power. On Thursday night, Kannapolis broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the 13th when former Herbert Hoover and West Virginia University standout Grant Buckner scored on Hawkins' two-out, bases-loaded single.

The Power continues a four-game series with Kannapolis tonight at 7:05.
