Nitro's Geoffrey Bevil headed a deep throw-in from Evan Eich into the net in the 65th minute as the visiting Wildcats edged Cabell Midland 1-0 in boys soccer Tuesday evening.
Nitro (2-1) out shot the Knights 18-11.
SISSONVILLE 3, RCB 0: Josh Rawson recorded a pair of goals and Sam Gray added one as host Sissonville defeated Robert C. Byrd. Sissonville (2-0) out shot RCB 17-14. Anthony Rinehart made 14 saves for the Indians, while the combination of Dante Speas and Corey Carvelli stopped 14 shots for the Eagles.
SC 2, SPRING VALLEY 0: South Charleston (1-1) registered its first win behind second-half goals from Kwesi Wilkerson (with an assist from Jonah Cosby) and Myles Gist (with an assist from goalkeeper Hunter Moles). Moles had six saves for SC.
POINT 7, HOOVER 1: Ryan Bonecutter scored three goals as Point Pleasant earned a home win. Steve Porter, Tommy Foust, Nick Hatfield and Colin Peal also scored for the Big Blacks. Andrew Mercer had the lone goal for Herbert Hoover (0-2).
WINFIELD 3, ST. JOSEPH 0: Jonah Sneeringer, Steven Taylor and Conner Grant tallied goals as host Winfield downed St. Joseph. The Generals (2-0) outshot the Fighting Irish 10-3.
CATHOLIC 7, PRINCETON 1: Sam Revercomb found the back of the net twice as Charleston Catholic secured a road win. Anthony Cipollone, William Scriptunas, Mitchell Stanley, Philip Mallory and Joey Trupo also scored for the Irish. Austin Smith scored for the Tigers.
NITRO 7, MIDLAND 0: Laine Roberts notched three goals to lead host Nitro past Cabell Midland. Taylor Burdette and Savannah Miller added two goals apiece for the Wildcats (2-0) while Becca Hall made three saves for the shutout.
WINFIELD 9, HUNTINGTON 1: Emily Cole tallied three goals and assisted on one as Winfield rolled past host Huntington. Jayne Lawman and M.E. Zulauf each had a pair of goals for the Generals (3-0) while Paige Bannister and Josee Erlandson also scored. Summer Wheatley scored the only goal for the Highlanders (0-1). Winfield has outscored its opponents 21-1 in three games this season.
CATHOLIC 2, ST. ALBANS 1: Sophia Bumgarner converted a penalty kick in the second half to give Charleston Catholic a road win. Hannah George notched the first goal for the Irish (3-0) by tapping in a nice cross from Caroline Dundervill from 3 yards out. Audry Goode got St. Albans (1-1-1) on the board when she broke away from the Catholic defenders and slipped one past Irish keeper Annie Crockett. Crockett made one save for Catholic, while Sierra Clair stopped 13 shots for the Red Dragons.
HOOVER 2, SHADY 1: Cassie Hammes and Sarah Henderson each had a goal as Herbert Hoover notched a road win. Lyndsey Thompson scored for Shady Spring. Bailey Aab stopped 18 shots for the Huskies (1-1), while Alex Underwood made three saves for the Tigers (0-1).
