Senior quarterback Levi Jordan completed 8 of 9 passes for 171 yards and four touchdowns Friday night as Buffalo opened its season with a 45-0 whitewash of Parkersburg Catholic in high school football.
The Bison jumped out to a 36-0 halftime lead, helped by a strong effort from its defense, which forced five Parkersburg Catholic fumbles in the game. The Bison limited the Crusaders to 90 yards of offense in the shutout.
Jordan had touchdown passes of 35, 4, 12 and 34 yards, and tailback Laythen Good ran for 84 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.
Garison Erwin caught two touchdown passes, and Gabe Garrison and Trevor Meade caught Jordan's other two TD passes.
Valley's Cody Winter carried six times for 68 yards and two touchdowns on runs of 1 and 8 yards, and Henry Barron rushed eight times for 55 yards and scored from 28 and 16 yards out. Hunter Adkins scored on a 35-yard run, helping the Greyhounds to a 38-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Hannan's Charles Mayes scored on a 1-yard run and threw a 10-yard TD pass to Jared Lunceford. Elijah Sowards completed the Hannan scoring on a 2-yard carry. Brad Fannin led the Hannan ground game with 63 yards on 12 attempts.
With 1:36 left in the game, Brooke scored a touchdown to cut the Big Reds' lead to one point but missed the extra point. The Bruins got another chance with less than a minute to play but could not score.
Parkersburg quarterback Aaron Roberts finished 10-of-13 for 102 yards and threw for a touchdown.
Brooke quarterback Alec Buchmelter ran for 100 yards on 18 attempts and was 19-of-35 passing for 319 yards with four touchdowns.
Anthony Perry finished with 121 yards and a touchdown for Point Pleasant, and teammates Anthony Perry (two carries, 107 yards, one touchdown), Tylun Campbell (88 yards, nine carries) and Marquez Griffin (79 yards, three touchdowns) also ran well.
Tug Valley quarterback Mikey Newsome completed 5-of-10 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, a 20-yarder to Aaron Muncy. Mays' TDs covered 6 and 19 yards. Phillip Lucas scored Tug's opening TD on a 1-yard run.
Justin Clark scored Sherman's touchdown on a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter.
