GW's Goard to transfer to Marshall from OU
Advertiser

Marshall's basketball team has added former George Washington star TyQuane Goard, who played his freshman year at Ohio University.

Goard averaged 7.2 minutes per game for the Bobcats, who advanced to the NCAA tournament's Sweet 16. He averaged 1.7 points and 1.5 rebounds, with a season high of seven points against North Carolina-Asheville.

He will sit out the 2012-13 season and have three years of eligibility remaining. With no scholarships available for this academic year, Goard will pay his own way to school.

"It is great to have TyQuane join our basketball program," said Thundering Herd coach Tom Herrion. "He is a young man we are familiar with from his high school and AAU days. He will benefit greatly during his sit-out year and we are excited for his future with the Herd."

After leaving Ohio, Goard attended classes this summer at Kilgore Junior College in Texas.
