Huntington's Charlie Stone took home the low round of the day at Monday's West Virginia Senior Series at the Parkersburg Country Club.
Stone shot a 75 as he won in a three-way card-off, defeating Charleston's David Grubb and Morgantown's Jack Forbes. Vienna's Scott Bibbee won the Senior Division after a card-off against Huntington's Steve Fox. Grubb took top honors in the Silver Division, while Stone finished first in the Gold Division.
WVU SOCCER: West Virginia women's soccer player Frances Silva has been named to the 11-player Top Drawer Soccer team of the week after guiding WVU to a pair of Big 12 Conference wins last weekend. Silva scored three goals, including both game-winners, and now leads the league in goals scored with eight.
WVC HONORS: Nate Montana, Ervin Moore and Keon Robinson have been named West Virginia Conference football players of the week.
West Virginia Wesleyan's Montana earned offensive honors, leading the Bobcats to their first win of the season. He completed 37 passes for 413 yards and four touchdowns in the victory over Seton Hill.
Shepherd's Robinson picked up defensive accolades, helping the Rams post a 16-10 victory at previously undefeated Charleston. Robinson intercepted a pass and ran it back 48 yards for a touchdown, helping SU erase a 10-0 deficit.
