Roundup: MSAC soccer pairings announced

The Mountain State Athletic Conference soccer championships will be held Saturday at the Trace Fork Soccer Complex.

The girls game between Princeton and George Washington will kick off at noon, while the boys game between Hurricane and Winfield will get underway afterward.

Place-winner games will be held over the next two weeks at the higher seed's field.

  • MU SPORTS: Tine Schryvers scored three goals as host Memphis pounded the Marshall women's soccer team 7-1 on Sunday. Christabel Oduro, Kaitlyn Atkins, Taylor Isenhower, and Madison Oyer each scored once for the Tigers (8-3 overall, 4-0 C-USA). Myka DeMarco scored the lone goal for the Thundering Herd (6-6, 2-2).

  • The Marshall men's soccer team dropped its first match of the season 2-0 at Tulsa on Saturday night.
  • Kyle Cummings and Omar Mata each scored for the Golden Hurricane (7-3, 2-0). Marshall dropped to 7-1-1 overall and 1-1 in Conference USA with the loss.
