West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith's Big 12 record-setting eight-touchdown game against Baylor solidified his lead in the Heisman Trophy race, according to the latest Heismanpundit/CBSSports.com Heisman straw poll.

The Mountaineer senior collected 10 first-place votes from the 11-member panel for 30 poll points, well ahead of second-place Collin Klein of Kansas State (11 points). Smith has led for three straight weeks in the survey of Heisman voters from across the country.

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller was third with seven points.

Smith was also selected Tuesday as the Maxwell Award player of the week.
