Scott-Wayne showdown pits AA No. 1 vs. No. 3

Friday's Wayne at Scott game will feature two of the top three teams in the SSAC Class AA playoff ratings - the No. 1 Skyhawks (6-0) versus the No. 3 Pioneers (5-0).

In the AAA rankings, George Washington (4-1) moved up three spots to fifth and trails (in order) Cabell Midland, University, Martinsburg and Huntington. Hurricane (3-2) stands 14th.

Buffalo (4-1) holds down the No. 12 position in Class A. The top five teams in that division are Tucker County, Greenbrier West, Valley Fayette, Wahama and Clay-Battelle.

Playoff ratings

The Secondary School Activities Commission's high school football computer ratings released Tuesday. The top 16 teams in each class qualify for the playoffs starting Nov. 9:
