WVC SPORTS: Renee Boudreau scored on a through-ball breakaway in the 61st minute as the University of Charleston edged host Pitt-Johnstown Tuesday  in Johnstown, Pa. Courtney Budd made four saves for the Golden Eagles (5-5-1) and Timi Shiock stopped 10 shots for Pitt-Johnstown (8-3).

  • For the fourth time this season, Concord's Robby Peters has been named the West Virginia Conference men's cross country runner of the week. Peters recorded a time of 26:38.33 to win the Greensboro Invitational on Saturday, his third win of the season. His performance helped the Mountain Lions earn a second-place finish.
  • Jenny Brewer of Alderson-Broaddus has been named the conference women's cross country runner of the week.
  • Brewer won the Bethany College Invitational last Saturday with a time of 24:08. The victory was her second of the season, guiding the Battlers to a third-place team finish.

  • POWER AWARDS: Two West Virginia Power players have been nominated for season-ending awards by MiLB.com, the website for Minor League Baseball.

    Alen Hanson is one of 12 nominees for Breakout Prospect of the Year and Nathan Kilcrease has been nominated for the Relief Pitcher of the Year award.
