Ex-MU guard Johnson signs to play in Canada

CHARLESTON -- Former Marshall University guard Shaquille Johnson has signed to play professional basketball with Laval Kebs of the National Basketball League of Canada.

Laval Kebs, located in Montreal, is one of eight teams in the league and finished last season with a 23-16 record.

Johnson, Marshall's all-time leader in games played, averaged 9.2 points per game last season for the Herd.

The Jacksonville, Fla. native signed a one-year contract with Laval Kebs.
