The University of Charleston's improved to 7-0-2 with a 2-0 men's soccer win Thursday at Pitt-Johnstown.
The teams were scoreless at the half prior to UC scoring twice in the late stages of the game. Brett Elliott found the back of the net on a pass from teammate Renan Ramos in the 66th minute from the top of the penalty box. UC also benefited from a Pitt-Johnstown own goal in the 77th minute.
UC goalkeeper Sean Teepen was not tested often and only had to make two saves.

SISSONVILLE 3, PIKEVIEW 1: Anthony Rinehart scored twice for Sissonville in a home win over Pikeview. Josh Rawson had the other Sissonville goal and an assist, and goalkeeper Sam Gary made 17 saves. Alec White scored for PikeView and Austin Cordell made 11 saves.
RIVERSIDE 6, CAPITAL 2: Cameron Norris tallied four goals and Jake Lavender and Cole Goode chipped in one score apiece for Riverside (5-10-2) while Austin Ballengee turned aside eight shots. Josh Hardy and C.J. Harvey scored for the Cougars (5-8-2).
HOOVER 7, INDEPENDENCE 0: Six different players scored in the road win for Herbert Hoover at Independence. Jesse Weese led the Huskies with two goals and two assists. Troy Silber had a goal and an assist while Andrew Shamblin, Joel Thaxton, Brett Strickland and Thomas Cantebury each added goals for the Huskies (5-11-1). Josh Coleman also had an assist for Hoover.
SC 4, SA 0: Myles Gist, Isaac Cosby, Devyn Harris and Chris Brown scored for South Charleston (11-4-1) in a win at Trace Fork. St. Albans fell to 4-10-1.
