Emily Rhodes had the lone goal for the Timberwolves. Hannah Jack made eight saves for the Cougars (8-9-1), while Hannah Smith stopped four shots for Spring Valley.

Football: Friday's games

  • WAYNE 47, SCOTT 6: Brandon Spurlock and Mason Hodge each ran for over 100 yards with a touchdown for visiting Wayne in its Class AA showdown with Scott.
  • The Pioneers (6-0) came into the game ranked No. 3 in AA, two spots behind the top-ranked Skyhawks (6-1).

    Spurlock ran 10 times for 123 yards and Hodge three times for 106 yards. Grant Ferguson hit on 8 of 13 passes for 120 yards and two TDs for Wayne, which won handily despite losing four of seven fumbles.

    Scott, which was limited to 193 total yards, scored in the fourth quarter on a 32-yard pass from Robert Bias to Dylan Dehart.

  • CHAPMANVILLE 20, MAN 0: Dustin Smith ran for one TD and led the defensive charge with nine solo tackles to lift the host Tigers (4-3) to a homecoming victory.
  • Brandon White carried six times for 61 yards and threw a 66-yard scoring pass to Brady Cox for Chapmanville. Deshawn Alexander also had a 2-yard TD run.

    The Hillbillies (2-5) were shut out for a second time this season and lost for the fourth time in five games.
