Austin Hensley completed 10 of 16 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns as Hurricane defeated Greenbrier East 44-20 in high school football Friday night at Lewisburg.

Hensley, who did not have an interception, threw scoring passes to Jesse Barker for 40 yards and Steven Handley for 20 and 40 yards.

In addition, Hensley scored on runs of 15 and 5 yards as part of the Redskins' 262 yards on the ground.

The Redskins (5-2), who led 24-0 at halftime, entered the game tied with Logan for 10th in Class AAA.

"We played a good game against a good team,'' said Hurricane coach Jeremy Taylor. "We discovered lots of holes we need to fill before our next game, but the kids did well and it was a hard-fought win.''

Hurricane's Alex Lucas led the team in rushing with 74 yards on four carries, including a 67-yard TD run on the game's final play.

In addition to their 453 yards of offense, the Redskins played solid defense, Taylor added.

"We were able to shut down what they do well and make them do other things,'' he said. "Defense was our key tonight.''

Zach Cooper led the Redskin defense with 10 tackles, including a sack.

For Greenbrier East (2-5), Isaiah Kinder scored on a 2-yard run and threw a 30-yard scoring pass to Tyler Olexo.
