Roundup: Seton Hill, Wesleyan advance in WVC women's tennis tournament

No. 7 Seton Hill and No. 8 West Virginia Wesleyan each won first-round matches at the West Virginia Conference women's tennis tournament Thursday at the Schoenbaum Courts in Kanawha City.

The Griffins posted a 5-2 victory against Shepherd and will face West Liberty at 2 p.m. today. Wesleyan beat No. 9 Concord 5-4 and plays top-seeded West Virginia State today.

  • WVU SOCCER: The No. 19 West Virginia women's soccer team scored a pair of second-half goals to defeat visiting Oklahoma 2-0 Thursday at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.

    Amanda Hill and Kate Schwindel netted goals for the Mountaineers (10-3-4), while Sara Keane made four saves.

  • MARSHALL VOLLEYBALL: The Marshall volleyball team will host UAB today and Memphis on Sunday for the Herd's annual "Dig For The Cure" promotion.

    Marshall will wear pink uniforms and an assortment of other pink accessories to honor the fight against breast cancer.

    There will be a silent auction during the course of the weekend for all the pink jerseys being worn that will conclude at the end of the match against Memphis on Sunday.
