GW's Dustin Crouser out with knee injury
Advertiser

George Washington fullback-linebacker Dustin Crouser is sidelined with a knee injury that could rule him out for the rest of the season.

Crouser, a returning Class AAA first-team all-stater who has committed to Division I Charlotte, suffered what's thought to be a torn ACL. He has an MRI scheduled for Thursday to determine the severity of the injury. He is definitely out this week.

"It's bad news,'' said GW coach Steve Edwards Jr., "and I just feel terrible for him - he's having a great year, high expectations, his senior year. But they're going to honor his scholarship [at Charlotte], and I'm thankful for that.''

Crouser projected as one of the leading candidates for the Sam Huff Award as the state's top defensive player.
