Roundup: Cross Lanes, Teays Valley to meet for state Christian soccer title

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Seniors Anthony Mahairis and Austin Davis each scored two goals to help lead Cross Lanes Christian to a 7-0 win over visiting Calvary Baptist in the West Virginia Christian Athletics tournament Friday.

Freshman Kyle Davis added two goals in the win for Cross Lanes (19-0-1) with sophomore Tyler Corbin scoring once.

Cross Lanes Christian will play Teays Valley Christian in the tournament final at 3 p.m. today at Schoenbaum Stadium.

  • NEHLEN TO SPEAK: Former West Virginia football coach Don Nehlen will be the featured speaker at the  Pro Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club Monday in Canton, Ohio.

    The luncheon, in its 50th season, will be held at Tozzi's on 12th St. NW in Canton at 11 a.m. Nehlen is among the few speakers who have more than a dozen appearances at the luncheon over the years.
