Renan Ramos buried the final penalty kick as the University of Charleston men's soccer team won 5-4 in a shootout to claim its fourth-straight men's soccer championship after the Golden Eagles and Davis & Elkins played to a 0-0 tie in regulation and two overtimes on Sunday at Schoenbaum Stadium.
Moises Oseguera made five saves for the Senators (14-3-1) while Sean Teepen stopped two shots for UC (13-1-3).
WOMEN'S SOCCER: Charleston gave up a first-half goal to West Virginia Wesleyan's Jocelyn Prescott as the Bobcats prevented a UC sweep by defeating the Golden Eagles 1-0 at Trace Fork Soccer Complex on Sunday.
Courtney Budd made four saves for UC (9-9-3) and Laura Duncan stopped three shots in preserving a shutout for Wesleyan (11-5-3).
WVU WRESTLING: No. 15 Maryland built up a 12-4 early lead and put away West Virginia 24-10 in a dual match at College Park, Md. on Sunday. The team shut out Johns Hopkins 43-0 in a match earlier in the day.
MU WOMEN WIN: Jasmine Shaw scored a game-high 18 points as the Marshall women's basketball team defeated Kentucky State 67-50 in an exhibition game in Huntington on Sunday.
Shay Weaver added 11 points for the Thundering Herd.
