GLENVILLE, W.Va. -- Glenville State had four players score in double-figures as the Pioneers held off visiting WVU Tech for a 96-95 win at Jesse R. Lilly Gym.
Following a made foul shot to give GSC a three-point lead, Tech had the ball with less than 10 seconds to play and a chance to send the game to overtime. Eddie Gordon missed a 3-point attempt and David Ward scored off the rebound but time ran out for the Golden Bears (6-2).
Jamel Morris led Glenville (2-1) with 27 points, Kevin Gray added 21 and Lamar Mallory grabbed 12 rebounds to go with 18 points. The Pioneers' D.J. Banks also had 11 points and seven assists.
For Tech, David Rawlinson scored a game-high 34 points to go with four assists and three steals. Kornilous Donnell (21 points, 10 rebounds) and Terrale Clark (14 points, 11 rebounds) each had double-doubles in the loss.
