Two sign letters with Mountaineer basketball

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia announced the signing of Nathan Adrian and Brandon Watkins to national letters of intent for men's basketball Friday.

Adrian, a 6-foot-8, 205-pound forward at Morgantown High, is coming off a Class AAA first-team all-state season for the Mohigans as a junior, where he averaged 19.4 points and 10.6 rebounds for coach Tom Yester. Morgantown posted an 18-7 record last season and advanced to the regional co-championship round of the playoffs before losing to Fairmont Senior.

Watkins, a 6-9, 225-pound forward from Decatur, Ga., averaged 19 points and 14 rebounds for Grady High and earned All-Metro Atlanta and Georgia Class AAA all-state second-team honors as a junior. Watkins is the nephew for former WVU standout Warren Baker.
