AREA SIGNINGS: Point Pleasant senior Megan Davis has signed a letter of intent to play softball at West Virginia State University. Davis, a three-year starter for the Big Blacks, is planning on majoring in elementary/early childhood education.
Damia Mogielski of Herbert Hoover High School has signed a letter of intent to play softball at West Liberty. Mogielski, a four-year Cardinal Conference first-team player for the Huskies, will major in criminal justice.

Malleri Hardison and Victoria Severo of the University of Charleston picked up spots on the All-WVC team. Hardison landed a spot on the second team after leading UC offensively with 335 kills and 305 digs. Severo earned honorable mention with a .318 attack percentage, 243 kills and 82 blocks.
Cameron Lewis earned first-team honors and Alyssa Graboski picked up honorable mention for West Virginia State. (List, Page 2B.)
UC senior Elyse Surbaugh and teammate Holly Bigg landed spots on the Daktronics All-Region women's soccer team on Monday.Surbaugh, the 2012 WVC player of the year, was one of only three conference players selected to the 13-player first team in the Atlantic Region. Bigg became a two-time honoree with her second-straight selection to the second team.
nnWVU SPORTS: The No. 2-ranked West Virginia University rifle team scored its second win in as many days at No. 4 Alaska-Fairbanks, defeating the Nanooks 4716-4651 Sunday at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range.
The Mountaineers (9-0) were led by senior Petra Zublasing, whose winning smallbore score (593) matched the school record she shares with Nicco Campriani.
