Finalists split prize in Great Gazette NASCAR championship
Advertiser

There were no winners in the Great Gazette NASCAR Race championship. Therefore, there were no losers.

The seven finalists in the prediction contest all laid a goose egg with their picks for the championship race, Sunday's season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. None of the seven finalists were able to correctly slot a top-five finisher, so no points were scored under the contest rules.

The $400 grand prize? It will be split seven ways among the finalists, with each getting a check for $57.14.

So, congratulations to Brian Gillispie of Nitro, Melvin Gillespi of Dunbar, Blaine B. Postlewait of Sutton, Roy Akers of Charleston, Donald G. Monroe Jr. of Parkersburg, Darrin Cooper of Ripley and Kevin Simpkins of Huntington.
