Spadaro retired before the 2012 season after spending 23 years at the school and racking up 120 wins and nine playoff appearances, including four trips to the second round.

"I am truly humbled by such a prestigious award," Spadaro said. "Coaching has been my life and my love, next to God and my family. This award is particularly sweet now at this time in my life. Thanks to everyone who has played a role in making my career so memorable, especially my players."

St. Albans woman wins weekly contest

Betty Jones of St. Albans is the winner of the Gazette Gridiron Gold Mine contest for Week 14.

Jones' entry was one of two that correctly predicted all 15 possible games. Her prediction of 46 points scored in the tiebreaker game between the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers was the closer of the two to the actual point total of 47.

For winning, Jones will receive $75 and is entered in the season-ending Gold Mine championship.
