Charleston Catholic defeated Wahama 53-27 in its girls basketball season opener behind 18 points, seven steals and five assists from Anna Whelan.
Samantha Fletcher scored 10 points and Simone Assalay accounted for eight points and eight rebounds in the win for the Irish. For the White Falcons (0-2), McKenzie Gabritch scored nine points.
WESTSIDE 64, LOGAN 48: Hope Lester had 26 points and 17 rebounds and Megan Endicott added 11 points for the host Renegades (1-0). Shayne Gore's 19 points led the Wildcats (1-2) and Monica Mitchell tallied 10.
CLAY 46, BRAXTON 39: McKinzee Barker scored 12 points as Clay County (2-0) locked down a win at home. Hunter Sodaro led all scorers with 17 points for the Eagles.

PARKERSBURG 57, RIVERSIDE 42: Imani Wood scored 22 points to lead Parkersburg (2-0) to a win against visiting Riverside (0-2) on Tuesday. Haley Ackerman added 10 points for the Big Reds in the win. For the Warriors, Brittany Wood scored a game-high 25 points.

WINFIELD 64, POINT 44: Chris Turner led all scorers with 16 points as Winfield earned a win at Point Pleasant Tuesday in both teams' season opener. Toby Show and Brock Pence each added 10 points for the Generals. Wade Martin scored 13 points for the Big Blacks.
n TEAYS VALLEY 68, GRACE 35: Elias Beacom erupted for 30 points as Teays Valley Christian won on the road. Justin Wojcieszak added 10 points for the Lions. Chris Adkins had 11 points to lead Grace Christian.
