Alexis Payne turned in 37 points and 24 rebounds Wednesday night as unbeaten host Valley earned a 67-54 girls basketball win against Charleston Catholic (1-2).
Abbie Buchan (16 points), Kelsey Bird (12 points) and Gracyn Grubb (nine rebounds) all contributed for the Greyhounds (4-0).
For the Irish, Samantha Fletcher scored 25 points and Anna Whelan 19.
CLAY 69, SISSONVILLE 55: The host Panthers outgunned the Indians 23-5 in the fourth quarter for the come-from-behind victory. Sissonville held a 50-46 lead entering the final period.
Brittany Gould poured in 29 points for the Panthers (4-0) and McKinzee Barker totaled 10 points and 15 assists. Madison Jones and Karli Pinkerton tallied 16 points apiece for Sissonville (2-2).
WESTSIDE 41, NICHOLAS 30: Hope Lester scored 15 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead Westside (4-0) to the road win at Nicholas County. Danielle Brown added 14 points for the Renegades. Shealyan Shafer had team-highs with 12 points and 20 rebounds for Nicholas County (4-1).
GREEN. EAST 72, PT. PLEASANT 36: Elizabeth Romeo finished with 22 points and Chaunte McDowell had 17 to lead Greenbrier East past visiting Point Pleasant. For the Big Blacks (1-4), Andrea Porter led the team with 11 points.
BRAXTON 61, CALHOUN 12: Braxton County's defense led the way as the Eagles cruised past visiting Calhoun County. For Braxton, Hunter Sodaro was the leading scorer with 10 points. Calhoun County's Hannah Burris had four points in the loss.
MAN 64, CROSS LANES 62: Summer Sword tallied 26 points as Man beat visiting Cross Lanes Christian (2-2) in overtime. Courtney Kendrick had 25 points for Cross Lanes (2-2) and Laura Jones added 17.
SHERMAN 61, GREAT-ER BECKLEY 25: Jordan Lewis scored 18 points, Lacey Pettry 12 and Sarah Massey finished with 11 points as Sherman (2-1) beat visiting Greater Beckley Christian (1-3). Becca Graham was Greater Beckley's leading scorer with 10 points.
MEADOW BRIDGE 62, MIDLAND TRAIL 52: Chandra Harrah scored 27 points and Sarah Fleshman 25 for Meadow Bridge in its road win. For the Patriots, Madison Syner finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the loss
SPRING VALLEY 75, RIVERSIDE 35: The Timberwolves used a 30-point second quarter en route to the road win. Sarah Kelly scored 16 points for Spring Valley (1-2) while Madison Morris added 15 and Kassie Lemon dropped in 10. Sheree Clayborn netted 13 points and landed nine rebounds for the Warriors (2-3).
