  • WVU SPORTS: All fans attending the West Virginia-Kansas game are encouraged to take part in the first-ever Stripe the Coliseum on Jan. 28. Fans are asked to wear either gold or blue depending on which section their seats are located. A detailed map of the color layout can be found at www.wvusports.com.

  • WVC FOOTBALL: Jason Woodman has been hired as the new head football coach at Fairmont State, the university announced Thursday.

    Woodman, a 2002 Fairmont State graduate, has spent the previous two seasons as the offensive coordinator at Bowie State. He has also served as an assistant coach at Concord, California (Pa.) and as a graduate assistant at Louisiana State and Florida State.

  • SOCCER CLINIC: The Kanawha City Community Center will host a soccer clinic Dec. 26-28 from 1-3 p.m.

    Children ages 7-18 are eligible to participate and the cost is $20. The clinic will be under the direction of former UC player Petsa Ivanovic. For more information, call (304) 348-6484.
