Prep roundup: Pickerington picks off Riverside 70-54

Conner Kern poured in a game-high 26 points and Pickerington Central (Ohio) outscored Riverside 24-12 in the fourth quarter to secure a 70-54 victory in the consolation game of the Chick-fil-A/South Charleston Classic Saturday at the South Charleston Community Center.

Jae-Sean Tabe added 20 points and Jalen Tabe had 10 for Pickerington Central (6-4), which led by four at halftime.

For Riverside, Nick Light scored 13, Tyus Wood 12 and Marcus Reed 10.

  • CAPITAL 80, TRINITY 52: Carrington Morris poured in 18 points as Capital earned a win at the Spartan Holiday Invitational at Greenbrier East.
  • Austin Coleman contributed 14 points for the Cougars (3-5) while Miguel Bays chipped in 10. For Trinity Christian (4-4), Cody Triplett had a team-high 15 points.

  • ROANE 60, GILMER 56, OT: Roane County outscored Gilmer County 12-8 in overtime to secure its sixth win of the season.
  • Jacob Neal had 21 poitns to lead the Raiders (6-2) while Scotti Meadows added 17. Anthony Aviles finished with 20 points for Gilmer County (4-2)

  • GREENBRIER EAST 72, METROLINA 57: Rondale Watson scored 31 points and Obi Romeo grabbed 19 rebounds to lead Greenbrier East to the win against Metrolina Christian (N.C.) in the Spartan Holiday Invitational championship game.
  • Bryce Woodliff added 20 points for the Spartans (8-0). Josh Dominguez had 27 points to lead Metrolina (10-6).

  • TEAYS VALLEY 69, OHIO VALLEY 44: Four players scored in double figures to lead Teays Valley Christian to a win against Ohio Valley Christian in the Big Blue Tournament at Wellston, Ohio.
  • Zack Moore scored 16 points while Justin Wojceiszak, Ben Parsons and Elis Beacom all had 14 for Teays Valley (10-3). T.G. Miller finished with a game-high 22 points for Ohio Valley (4-4)

  • CATHOLIC 64, SUMMERS 53: Nick George recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds as Charleston Catholic defeated Summers County in the Charleston Catholic Showcase.
  • Zach Casto added 16 points and Garett McCarty had 14 for the Fighting Irish. T.J. Smith led the Bobcats with 20 points while Taron Ayers chipped in 16.

  • NITRO 71, SISSONVILLE 68: Angelo Sirianni erupted for 40 points in Nitro's home win.
  • Jonathon Mawyer added 10 points for the Wildcats (4-3). Zach Null led the Indians (3-3) with 21 points and Nathan Miller had 15.

  • HOOVER 76, WAYNE 46: Host Herbert Hoover piled up a 23-2 advantage in the first quarter en route to a win.
  • Cody Morris scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Huskies (4-1) while Joey Forbes had 13 points, 11 rebounds and six steals. Sam Schoolcraft chipped in with 13 points.

    Grant Ferguson scored 13 points to pace Wayne (2-3).

  • SA 52, CABELL MIDLAND 44: St. Albans outscored Cabell Midland 14-4 in the third quarter as the Red Dragons (2-4) picked up a home win.
  • Nathan McNeil netted 15 points for St. Albans while Kevic Watkins added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Dustin Scarberry had 23 points for the Knights (2-5).

  • MOUNT VIEW 68, MAN 38: Maurice Brown scored 16 points and Antoine Calloway had 15 as Mount View improved to 3-1 with a win at the Bob Runyon Memorial Tournament at Chapmanville. Jake Adkins led Man (1-5) with 14 points while Chris Justice scored 11. 
  • CHAPMANVILLE 63, PIKEVIEW 58: Kenny Plumley netted a game-high 27 points as the host Tigers claimed the championship in the Bob Runyon Memorial Tournament at Chapmanville.
  • Makenzie Martin posted 15 points for Chapmanville (3-3). Jason Weitzel tallied 24 points for PikeView (1-3).

  • PARK. SOUTH 65, FORT FRYE 52: West Mitchem scored 22 points while Doug Dennis and Logan Cox each added 13 to lead Parkersburg South (6-1) to the win against Fort Frye (Ohio) at the Ohio River Classic at Marietta College.
  • Shon Smith had a game-high 24 points and Chandler Lang scored 13 for Fort Frye (2-5).

  • LINCOLN COUNTY 56, DODDRIDGE 40: T.J. Arbaugh scored 22 points as Lincoln County won the Ritchie County Invitational championship game.
  • Andrew Davis added 19 points for Lincoln County (5-3). Dylan Alexander and Ashton Hinzman each had nine points for Doddridge County (1-3).

  • POCA 56, MINGO CENTRAL 46: Noah Frampton tallied 15 points to pace the visiting Dots to victory. Also for Poca (6-1), Matt Chandler had 13 points and Cameron Cottrill 12. For the Miners (4-2), Austin Banks scored 17 points and Marqus Cunningham 12.

  • SUMMERS 69, CATHOLIC 58: Avery Pivont exploded for 25 points as Summers County downed Charleston Catholic in the Charleston Catholic Showcase.
  • Brandy Morrison added 16 points for the Bobcats (6-1). Anna Whelan and Samantha Fletcher had 18 points apiece for the Fighting Irish (3-5).

  • WESTSIDE 50, SCOTT 31: Danielle Brown scored 22 points to help Westside keep its perfect record intact in a win at Scott.
  • Faith Davis added 10 points for the Renegades (7-0) while Jaimee Dotson was Scott's leading scorer with 12 points. Andrea Rankin also scored in double figures for the Skyhawks (4-2), finishing with 10 points.

  • TOLSIA 66, KEYSER 50: Krista Maynard had a triple-double with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists as Tolsia defeated Keyser in the Charleston Catholic Showcase at the Charleston Catholic Athletic Complex.
  • Savannah Winnett also had a big game for the Rebels (4-2) with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Jordan Presley contributed 11 points. Katie Hoban (12 points) and Carly Grady (10) were the top scorers for Keyser (4-3).

  • MINGO 61, RIVER VIEW 41: Mingo Central jumped out to a 31-14 first-quarter lead before earning a home win.
  • Chrissy Farmer netted 14 points for the Miners (3-5) while Hannah Church and Ashley Curry contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively. Chelsey Dobbs tallied a game-high 21 points for River View.

  • SHADY SPRING 48, MIDLAND TRAIL 29: Kaylee Dickinson finished with 16 points and Morgan Hilton had 15 to lead Shady Spring (2-7) to the win in the girls consolation game at the Spartan Holiday Invitational. Marissa Workman had 10 points for Midland Trail (1-5).
  • GREEN. EAST 81, AMELIA 41: Elizabeth Romeo scored a game-high 24 points and three other Spartans scored in double digits to lead Greenbrier East to the Spartan Holiday Invitational championship game win against Amelia County (Va.).
  • Bianca Andre chipped in with 18 points and 17 rebounds while Chloe Honaker and Lexi Tincher each finished with 10 points for Greenbrier East (7-0).

    Jasmine Mitchell was Amelia's leading scorer with 13 points.

  • NITRO 78, LINCOLN COUNTY 61: Savannah Shamblin netted 18 points and Hannah Linville contributed 16 as Nitro (4-3) cruised to a home win.
  • Lindsay Prichard scored 16 points for Lincoln County (0-11) while Laura Williamson chipped in 13.
